  i am now officially 'inactive' so am no longer chased by an elder a for a report.

  the congregation i belonged to never had much time for me anyway, i said once i could drop down dead in the k.hall and no one would notice.

  so i never expected anyone to be particularly bothered that i wasn't there and they aren't.

  Costs Associated with a Regular Size smaller rink Assembly Public Owned

  just came from the one day -- like to call it that cause everything is a changin.... this question would be directed to someone who worked in accounts for an assembly of maybe 1700 in attendance (recently) in a small town, about 2 hours from a main city.

  the accounts report was read and it was a stunner..... i guess i could call the location and see how much it costs to rent this arena for a day and see but i was wondering why would they send a large amount of monies to the wt and say we are short on contribution???.

  anyb ody know - i do know about monies going for child abuse court problems they are having - latest one in canada where there us a class action suit being brought by trey bundy... plus the so called out of court settlements worldwide.. arc, britain, etc...so i know that end of it - just wondering why they are sucking /lying to support the www... .

  I was account servant for a few years and we rented a public place. The per publisher amount is not required when renting a place. We'd pay about $1,000 per day for the rental. At the elders business meeting after expenses were explained, the elders would decide how much to send to send to headquarters. One thing I always thought was strange is that the elders had to determine a specific amount to send. It couldn't be a percentage of the money that remained after local expenses. This applied even if we were in debt at the moment.

  hello everyone, my wife wants nothing to do with my awakening.

  every time i try explaining something she tells me she doesn't want to hear it.

  i believe she's afraid of learning something she's not ready for.

  I appreciate all of your comments. Yes Freddo I'd be willing to pay quite a bit for that magic bullet lol.

  SBF that's a very good question and to the point. I may try it one of these days.

  Silentbuddha wow your situation was similar to mine. I'm being patient with her and have been as loving as I can. Separation has been her biggest fear but I try as hard as I can to show her thats not my intention.

  Scratchme1010 those are excellent ideas to consider. She does have a few long time friendships that I'm sure she's afraid of losing.

  Thank you Phoebe for relating your experience. I'm hoping that little by little it also starts to come together for her.

  To the rest. I am making a big effort on baby steps and not rushing it. She has to wake up on her own. She does fear losing Jehovah's approval. That's big as it was for all of us. I'm just thinking of what would be the best tidbits to give her any chance I get.

  I am totally out. I couldn't continue once I awoke. So that's been very difficult for her and I'm sure has affected her thinking towards whatever I have to say regarding "the truth".

  Hello everyone, my wife wants nothing to do with my awakening. Every time I try explaining something she tells me she doesn't want to hear it. I believe she's afraid of learning something she's not ready for. I'm not ready to give up on her learning the ttat.

  Do you have any suggestions with something quick I could say that would get her to think before she tells me she doesn't want to hear it? She hates to be lied to so maybe something along those lines. However, ANY ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  Outside JW World They Barely Exist

  is anyone else staggered by the fact that outside of the organization most of the general public seem to know very little or nothing about jw’s?

  when i was in i was led to believe that 99% of the worlds population had been giving sufficient warning, knew what it was all about and were stubbornly sticking to their immoral ways.

  the reality seems to be that the entire jw universe is barely noticeable to the masses.

  since me and my siblings had to go to service every saturday, and i mean every saturday, i missed out on something so normal as watching good ole saturday morning cartoons from the 70's and 80's.

  i remember wishing i could stay home just one saturday so i could watch cartoons.

  but noooo we had to go save lives!

  Since me and my siblings had to go to service every Saturday, and I mean EVERY Saturday, I missed out on something so normal as watching good ole Saturday morning cartoons from the 70's and 80's. I remember wishing I could stay home just one Saturday so I could watch cartoons. But noooo we had to go save lives! I never did save any lives as a result of Saturday service. I was so envious of worldly kids.

  What normal thing do you wish you could have done as a kid?

  Repost: My Two Week Consulting Trip to Bethel

  since half of them ended up at my house on friday and saturday nights i was given a very shining report card.

  he then told me that he would knock on my door bright and early in the morning to take me to breakfast with him and his wife.

  a couple of them told they enjoy the articles i write in the art magazines and they were really happy to meet me.

  I was searching for another topic and stumbled on to this post. Damn am I glad I did! It's a short novel but puts everything into perspective. Everything from starting his awakening while working temporarily in bethel to starting his new life outside the idiotic trenches of jw world. Awesome story!

  the videos this guy has made are amazing!

  i'm sure others here have seen some of his videos.
